A Giant and a Gentleman

Everyone at the Heath was sad to hear the news that Stuart Taylor had passed away.
The Club would like to pass on our condolences to the family and friends of Stuart, a man who will be remembered as a Cadbury Heath legend as well as a Bristol Rovers legend. Stuart is pictured lining-up for the Cadbury Heath Reserves in 2000, back row 2nd from the right.
Our Chairman, Steve Plenty, wrote the following on behalf of the club. It featured in the Sunday Independent:
Firstly, our sincere condolences goes to Pam and Stuart's family from all of us at Cadbury Heath FC at this very sad time.
Stuart joined Cadbury Heath FC in early 90`s and was Player Manager of our Reserve Team in the Bristol Suburban League for some 10 years. He was a big part of the Heath, taking the club training twice a week with his good friend John Higgs. Stuart was also an active Committee Member, sharing his knowledge and ideas plus he was always willing to help out on the pitch and with the maintenance side of running the club. Stuart and Pam always attended fundraising and the social events held at the Club. Fond and fun memories shared by everyone.
Stuart was very respected and thought fondly of by all at the Heath. Although he was very modest regarding his professional career, he delighted in reminiscing about his time playing for Bristol Rovers, recalling memories of his playing days and when pushed to do so, his achievements - which often lead on into the night, with us all stood round the club bar!
To this day, as a mark of respect, the legacy of Stuart Taylor lives on. From the year 2000, The Stuart Taylor Young Player of the Year Trophy is awarded at our annual presentation evenings.
God Bless The Legend, and the Gentleman that will always live on - Stuart Taylor.
Steve Plenty
Chairman
Cadbury Heath FC
