Dear All,
On behalf of your Board of Directors and Executive Committee Members, I would like to thank our principal sponsor, Mr Tony Chapman of CLX and all our other generous sponsors, together with our Director of Rugby Steve Larkins and all his Team Leaders and players in all sections of the club for their support and hard work during this successful first half of the 2024 - 25 season.
Of course, this success on the field cannot fully manifest itself without the support and hard work of our committee members, staff members and our magnificent band of volunteers. These volunteers work tirelessly, some in all weathers, to provide the back up support that a successful club requires.
So, we thank the Club Manager and all his bar staff, our tremendous Sponsorship Team, the PR and Media Team, the Compliance & Safety Team and the hardworking Grounds and Maintenance Team for their invaluable input both before and throughout this season. Thank you one and all!
I would also like to recognise the special contribution that the wives, girlfriends, husbands and partners play in supporting our players when they must travel such huge distances to fulfil our away match commitments. Thank you for your patience and your fortitude in dealing with the inevitable disruption this brings to family life.
We continue to enjoy a close working relationship and the support of Cornwall Council, Camborne Town Council, the Camborne School of Mines and the resurgent mining industry and its supportive companies. We hope that in the future, this cooperation will persist, as we work together to further improve the profile of Camborne and the Camborne Rugby Club by improving the amenities and sporting facilities at the Club for all the people of Camborne.
Planning and work on improving our changing room facilities at the Recreation Ground, installing a new Solar Power generation and power storage system at the Clubhouse, upgrading the Crane Park floodlights to LED standard and re-surfacing of the Crane Park Car Park is well advanced with completion of all improvements envisioned in 2025. Implementing our project objectives may cause some disruption to normal operations but we trust that you will bear with us as we transition to the eventual improved facilities.
The task of submitting the numerous and detailed Bid Documentation to secure adequate financing from the £25M Camborne Town Deal was undertaken employing the combined expertise of Richard Simeons - Club Secretary, Andy Gill - Club Chairman and Martin Symons - Director. We thank them all for their input into this hugely successful task.
So, in conclusion, we very much look forward to your continued support for the rest of the season and would take this opportunity, to wish You and all your family,
A Merry Christmas and a prosperous, happy and healthy New Year in 2025!
On! On! On!
Bill Hussey,
President Camborne RFC
