Good attendances lead to a 6 week extension for popular workout

Organisers have extended the initial 6 week trial for a further 6 weeks such is the interest in this new popular way to stay in shape which is aimed at those who want a gentle workout. You don't need to be an ex-rugby player or over 50 to take part, just someone who want's or needs to get some healthy, cardio exercise which is not too strenuous.

The sessions are supervised by professionals who are on hand to give you advise on wellbeing, diet and fitness (should you require it). These are FUN, light hearted training sessions which give you a workout without you realising how much you've put in.
The organisers are even looking into arranging a competitive match with another club in the area soon.

Sessions take place on Tuesday evenings from 6pm on Crane Park (in front of the clubhouse). You even get a BMI (body mass index) readout when you weigh-in before the session (from 5.45pm).
The bonus is these session are FREE!, so why not come along and give it a go? If it's raining you will even have to opportunity to join in with the CircuitsRus fitness club which takes place in the 'Town' bar from 5-6 & 6-7pm.

WHAT IS WALKING RUGBY

As the name suggests, running is forbidden (but in none competitive sessions jogging is acceptable at Camborne) as is passing the ball higher than shoulder height. There are also no high tackles – or indeed any tackles – and, crucially, no scrums, rucks or mauls.
Instead players are allowed to hold onto the ball for no more than three seconds before passing, keeping the pace moving and giving the other team an opportunity to intercept.
