Tough Taunton Test for Town.
Coaches and Selectors will be looking for a performance rather than a result when the team entertain National 2 Taunton Titans at the REC on Saturday.
The Somerset outfit finished just outside the promotion places last season and are one of the favourites to go up this time round, so 'Town' know they will be in for a testing afternoon on Saturday.
Despite being without several players through injury and unavailability the Cherry & Whites will still be able to call upon no fewer than 9 players who've represented Cornwall at senior level. Indeed Camborne's back division could contain three players with Championship experience, (Rhodri Mcatee, Alex Ducker and Lewis Vinnicombe), so they could cause the visitors a few problems of their own.
Although the teams opening pre-season game against the 'Hakes' was hardly a classic conditions certainly played their part in that. There were a number of positives to be taken from the match not least Camborne's defensive display, especially when they went down to 14.
There were big performances from Captain Jon Drew, County locks Damien Cook and Tony Whittle plus young hooker Jordan Nicholls in both attack and defence. In the backs wing Vinnicombe looked a class above and centre Declan Matthews showed why he was selected for the SW u20's last season.
