Last Saturday the team's convincing victory at Clevedon sent them to the top of the South West 1 table for the first time since they were promoted 5 seasons ago. But rather than rest on their laurels the club immediately moved to strengthen their squad by bringing in National league experience in the shape of Redruth and Cornwall prop forward John Drew and back rower Neil Stanleick who returned to the club after spending 3 months @ Launceston.
Saturday's lineup will be confirmed after training this evening but selectors have a few difficult decisions to make before naming the squad. Players such as Richie Kevern, Ben Jordan plus Drew and Stanleick are all vying for inclusion into a team who played so well last week, it's not going to be an easy task.
Also Captain Steve Kenward is back in training and with Ben Drew well on the way to full fitness after 13 months out of the game the squad is looking good as they head into the most testing period of the season.
The visitors moved off the bottom of the table last week when they picked up their first win of the season with an impressive bonus point victory over third place Thornbury, who had been in sparkling form. So Camborne will not be taking them lightly, as they are well aware that every team in this league carries a threat and are capable of causing upsets.
Camborne are not only top of the table but are also the leading points and try scorers in the league as they continue to play an exciting, expansive game both at home and away. With the team in such superb form the club will hoping for a large crowd to get behind them at the REC on Saturday.
