In a time when huge focus is being placed on player safety within the game, Camp Hill are pleased to announce that Nicki Freeth has now qualified as the 2nd XV Medic. For the past couple of months Nicki has been undertaking online courses as part of the ‘First Aid in Rugby’ programme run by World Rugby.
The fairly extensive programme consisted of 10 courses made up of multiple modules. These covered key areas such as:
• Concussion & Head Injuries
• Medical Protocols for Elite Level Match Day Medical Staff
• Neck and Spinal Injuries
• Cardiac Arrest & Choking
• Limb injuries
With player numbers increasing this season, it was essential that Camps ensured the Player Support Team matched this. Edwin Knight will oversee and mentor Nicki as she gains experience, with the plan for Nicki to enrol on 2 day RFU Official Course in the summer.
I'm sure you'll all join us in congratulating Nicki and offer her your support as she undertakes the new role.
Leanne Bradnock has just begun the online course, so we hope to be announcing another addition to the team in the coming months.
