If you've been down to Warwick road recently you can't have failed to miss that the third team pitch has some strange markings.
No, Greg hasn't lost his marbles. The markings signify that Carlisle Sentinels, the city's newest American Football team will play all their homes games at Carlisle Rugby club over the summer. The Carlisle Sentinels American Football Club was founded in the summer of 2013 by a number of ex-players and their partners from various other teams and backgrounds. You might just recognise some familiar faces in their squad, with John"Irish"Wright playing quarterback. Having played some development games in 2014 they have been accepted into the National league setup for the 2015 season. They have 5 home games scheduled for Warwick Road, all played on Sunday afternoons, and the first game is scheduled for Easter Sunday 5th April against Manchester Titans, ko 2.30pm
Yes thats right its free to watch and there is the added bonus of the Carlisle Heroes Cheerleaders who will be performing at all the Sentinels home games. So look out your Easter Bonnet and come and watch something different at Carlisle RFC.
