Back to winning ways at the weekend, Carlton are in ninth at kick off. The Millers ground out that win against Heaton Stannington and showed strong defensive play as they were second best for much of the game but a goal for Ollie Clark, just reward after several good performances recently, and a second goal of the season for Niall Hylton took the spoils.
Ashington are struggling at present. With just one point from the last eight games, they are third from bottom and need something here to try and stay in touch with the rest of the division. The Colliers only have one away win so far this season, against Garforth.
Carlton won this fixture 2-0 last season, captain Niall Davie among the scorers, and need something like that again here to keep up with the league’s early pacesetters.
