After a hard won victory in the most challenging of conditions last weekend, Carlton embark on the trip to Ashington imbued with confidence. No one victory makes a season so guarding against complacency will be key here and, as Ashington are battling against relegation the outcome is far from certain.
These sides shared the points in a 0-0 draw at the end of October, a game that Carlton were guilty of squandering numerous chances and failing to convert a last minute penalty. That said, Ashington were unlucky themselves and posed a real threat on the break.
The Colliers come into this one with only two wins at home this season and on the back of successive defeats without scoring. A win though moves them closer to safety and they did dispatch Carlton 4-0 in this fixture last year.
For Carlton, a win would only be their fourth in the road this season but would serve to move them back into the top half of the table.
