Carnoustie YM History

Carnoustie YM play in the Midlands League in the Tayside / Angus area of Scotland. The town itself is world famous for its Championship Golf Course and has hosted the British Open seven times with the latest being held in 2007.

The origins of our club are open for debate, however from our investigations it appears that we were originally called Westfield FC and were formed around 1930, where a very successful team brought home various league titles and cups. There seems to be a gap of around 20 years, between the war years and the early sixties where we have no records of Westfield and then the appearance of Carnoustie YM in 1963. The side of the late 60's early 70's again brought trophies to the town and from there our club has grown from strength to the strength to the present day where we currently have 2 teams playing competitively from our home pitch of Carlogie Park.

This season we have over 50 signed players and the vast majority live in the town. We are currently in discussions with the local Junior and youth football clubs to create a community sports club to provide a pathway from boys and girls youth football through to senior football for men and women.
