Crusaders set to return in the Heworth 9's.

This Saturday Crusaders Open Age will carry on their re-build with an invitation to the Yorkshire League 9's this coming Saturday at Heworth. Following the withdrawl of Holderness Vikings from the tournament, Crusaders were asked to fill the void and take the competition total back up to 10, something we were happy to do.
The competition will be split into 2 pools of 5 with each club playing 4 x 14 minute games with the action starting at 12 noon.
Crusaders are looking to re enter the North East Rugby League competition next season and numbers at training and the availability at the matches played thus far indicates that they will be well positioned to do so. Saturdays Tournament will again be an indicator of that.
"We are thankful of the invitation being extended to us, as we were beginning to struggle to find friendlies as the NERL season draws to a close. We know we wont be rocking anyone's world on Saturday but our objectives are focussed on us and our ability to get a side out and enjoy our rugby, in a view to re-entering the league next season," is the message from Club Chairman Jase Grant.
Crusaders will be missing most of their younger players on Saturday who are away on other things including school rugby tours, however it is great to see that we will still be generating enough numbers to get out on the park on Saturday afternoon and enjoy a few beers afterwards.
Following the 9's Crusaders will be playing at Kingston Park against Cramlington Rockets on Friday 14 August.
