Meet the Manager - Scott Dundas

Paul Mullins3 Jul 2017 - 12:19

New manager Scott Dundas will be holding a Q & A session this coming Thursday, August 10th, two days before the league season begins.

Chasetown Supporters are being encouraged to attend in numbers and arrive 8pm for an 8.15pm start. The clubhouse bar will be open as usual. Come and ask those questions.

Managerial/Coaching Career
In 2008-09, Scott got offered a chance to go and work on the coaching side of the team at Step 5 with Congleton Town with his now assistant manager Anthony Buckle. Coaching the players and having a little say in the team and dressing room really made his mind up that he wanted to pursue this side of the game.

In 2011, Scott got asked to manage Norton United at Step 6 level which was perfect to learn the trade. His first season as manager saw Norton get promoted to Step 5, win the Divisional Cup, got to the 4th Round of the F.A Vase and the semi-final of the league cup and final of the Staffordshire FA Vase.

Added to that, Scott won the North West Counties Division One Manager of the year and receiving six managers of the month awards.

2012-13 was a tough season in a higher league. Norton had a terrible start but adapted well and finished a reasonable mid table.

2013-14 at Step 5 and only in his third year of management, Norton had a remarkable achievement, winning one of the hardest leagues in non league football to be promoted into Step 4 - with over 100 goals scored and over 100 points gained. Scott's second promotion in three years. He also received the Manager of the Year award for the North West Counties Premier Division.

2014-2015 was his first season at Evo Stik Step 4 level. Norton finished in the top half and for the first time in the club's history reached the 1st Round of the FA Cup. A brief spell with Witton Albion was followed by 6 months at Alasger Town.

Last season Scott took Newcastle to a 7th place finish.

Scott said today, "Having had a couple of clubs over the last three seasons, I am really looking forward to putting some roots down at Chasetown FC."

The family
Scott is married to Clare and they have three children, Jack (16), Milly (10) and Lexi (7).
