The former Port Vale, Rushall Olympic and Hednesford Town front man signed forms to join the Scholars this week and goes into the squad for Saturday's game v Stalybridge.

On his new front man, Swanny said “We have all known for some time that we have lacked a top centre forward. I have been in contact with Danny for a good while now and we have had to be patient to get our man. The deal almost happened previously but circumstances always meant the timing wasn’t right.

"We are chuffed to finally welcome Danny to Chasetown.

"There are not many strikers about that we could have targeted with Danny’s pedigree and character. He will fit in perfectly!

"After leaving Hednesford Danny still has the hunger to play and will be a massive addition for the football club."
