Chesham Rugby Club has come a long way since it came into being at the Red Lion pub in 1981. From a single men’s pub team to one which now has four senior Men’s teams, a Women’s team, three girls’ teams, five junior teams, seven mini teams and indoor rugby classes for under 4 and 5 year old’s. We also have a fully integrated netball club that play under the Stags banner and have grown in numbers every year. We believe in being true community club centred on sport and inclusivity for all.

In 2012 we agreed to forego the lease on our clubhouse at Chiltern Hills as part of their transition to Academy status and a major capital investment project to upgrade and overhaul the facilities.

Finally in 2018 we achieved a dream the club had long been striving for and moved into our very own Clubhouse. The “Future Building” laid the platform for what was to be one of Chesham Stags most successful season. Winning the BBO Premier League, The Bucks County senior Vase and the South West Senior Vase.

The Job is not done.

The facilities provided by the new clubhouse are vital to giving our club the platform it needed. In recent seasons we have had three teams achieve promotion into higher leagues and had successful cup runs. We are well positioned to grow further if we have the right support for what we are trying to achieve on the pitch. The completion of the clubhouse was only the beginning. There is an ongoing opportunity for our club and our community to grow and to nurture our young people in a friendly and supportive environment. It also helps us attract and retain talented players, bringing them a concrete example of what is possible in this club and the level of our aspirations.

What do we do now?

The club currently runs a successful ‘Deer Friends’ corporate and personal
sponsorship scheme, similar to a 100 club which pays a monthly prize. These funds are essential and used to cover the day to day running costs of the Club.
