Volunteers

Rugby playing days over or just a parent or enthusiast with sometime on your hands?

Why not get involved in one or more of the following to keep you involved in the game and the club?

All we ask is that anyone who volunteers with any of the Youth section U6’s to Colts has a valid DBS Check (formally known as the Criminal Records Bureau Check) . The club needs to start this process, so if you would like to volunteer and need a DBS check please email the Safeguarding Office to ask for the forms.

Refereeing

Nationwide, referees are generally in short supply at all levels of the game, from Mini to Vets rugby. In particular, our own Bucks County Referees Society would welcome more recruits to their ranks. If you still fancy a run out and a pint afterwards, in the first instance please contact the Club Referee Co-Ordinator. Courses are run from time to time the two main courses are:

  1. Old Mutual Wealth Kids First Refereeing Children
  2. England Rugby Refereeing Award (Level 2)

There are also continuation training modules usually run by the county Referees Society.

  • The Club will pay the cost of any course you go on should you gain qualification.

Refereeing courses can be booked by going to the RFU Course Booking site.

Coaching
Again, we can never get enough qualified coaches.

From time to time various courses are run which lead to formal RFU awards ranging from Kids first Tag Rugby through to Advanced level coachinhg awards. There are also lots of locally run continuation professional development courses on various aspects of the game.

No matter what level you want to start coaching you should do the Rugby Ready course and take the online world rugby laws test.

If you are interested in coaching across Youth or Adult Rugby, then please get in touch with the mini’s and juniors coaching co-ordinator by following this link.

Volunteers
Apart from the club elected officers and committees, we always can do with more volunteers, whether it be for helping on the bar on a Saturday or a Sunday, helping in the kitchen on a Sunday, helping run the club shop or assisting with general maintenance. Do please volunteer your services to any club official or directly to our volunteer co-ordinator Lindsey McDonough on volunteer@cheshamrugbyclub.com.

Whatever help you give will be appreciated in helping to improve and further develop the club.
