Following on from the news that Noah Vickery has returned to the club, its fantastic news that fellow CBH Junior, Josh Leach, has decided to return to play his senior cricket at Filkins Lane in 2023.
After performing well for Northop Hall CC in the Liverpool Competition taking 75 1XI wickets in the last two seasons, and also 2 senior 50’s with the bat he is an exciting addition to Rick Moore's side. In addition, Josh has represented the Midlands in the Bunbury festival in 2022 and was the highest wicket taker across all aged groups for CYC.
Following in his Dads footsteps (ex-1XI player Darren Leach), Josh will be looking to take the chance to showcase his skills in the Cheshire Premier League next season. Alongside his Cheshire and Worcestershire commitments, the hope his game will continue to develop.
Captain Rick Moore said on the arrival of Leach “Josh has clearly had a superb start to his cricketing career and his achievements in Junior, representative and his performances for Northop Hall 1st XI have shown he can offer plenty to us as a 1st XI group, really looking forward to having Josh onboard and helping him progress his cricket while taking CBH forward in 2023”.
Legendary spinner Jack Williams also added on Leach’s addition “Great to have Josh back at the club. He was always a talented player coming through the Chester age groups and has gone away, honed those skills in senior cricket and is ready to contribute to the first team squad. I look forward to bowling at the other end to him and seeing what he can do”.
Welcome Josh!
