Its only the middle of March but we have that End of League Season feeling with all Three Men's teams challenging for promotion.
The weekend starts with Chippenham Academy playing on Friday night against Keynsham Colts on the AGP. KO at 8.00pm and expecting a great crowd for this floodlit match.
Chippenham 1st's head down the A350 to play their final League match away at Trowbridge. Chippenham are currently sitting in 2nd place and Trowbridge in 7th although league position shouldn't be a big factor in this match. Trowbridge have had a good run of results and have not lost at home since November. In fact, they've only lost at home against Thornbury and Keynsham so far although they do face Chippenham (2nd) and then Matson (1st) on consecutive Saturdays... Chippenham come off from a convincing win on the road against 3rd placed Thornbury last Saturday and are looking to finish the league season in style 2.30pm KO. Then its onto the Cups with matches on three fronts; National Cup, Bath Combination Cup and Bristol Combination Cup. A big travelling support is expected for this Wiltshire Derby!
Chippenham 2nd's currently head their League and have a 2 point lead over Marlborough 2nds, so every point really does count with just 2 league games remaining. On Saturday, we look forward to welcoming Swindon 2nds for a match on the AGP - 3.00pm KO. This will be the first time the two teams have faced each other this season and Swindon have had a tough few months and sit at the foot of the league with just one win to their name. We look forward to hosting them and getting a good game of rugby on because the 2nds squad are looking forward to this one.
Chippenham 3rd's have had a very good season and sit in 2nd place in their league and look forward to the final league game of their season. And what a great way to round off the season with a home match against our friends from Colerne 2.30pm KO. Chippenham v Colerne is always a real rugby match and sometimes brings different styles of rugby played in great spirit. We look forward to welcoming Colerne to Allington Fields.
On Sunday, the Rugby Weekend is wrapped up by the brilliant Chippenham Ladies who have their penultimate League match away at Hardwicke & Quedgeley Ladies. The inaugural league season for Chippenham Ladies has been a bit fractured but they really look forward to finishing strongly with this trip to Gloucestershire and then a final match away at Ashley Down Ladies. The match is a 2.00pm KO and we wish Chippenham Ladies well in this match.
Its gonna be a busy weekend for Chippenham RFC - So get out and support YOUR Club.
