Local rivals put to the sword

Chippenham power past their local rivals

Another cold Sunday morning greeted the visitors from Corsham to Allington Fields in what was an eagerly anticipated fixture between the two local rivals. Chippenham started the strongest, displaying fine attacking rugby with crisp handling and powerful running from the back line. With Will D bossing the forwards and winning clean ball, it allowed Fin F time to release the dangerous backs, Theo M and Pete making inroads into the Corsham defence. Tries soon followed with backs and forwards linking together to create space for the wingers to score. A powerful performance from the Chippenham pack, led by Hugo and Ollie set a platform that Corsham struggled to cope with. Corsham did get a consolation try late on in the game when the usual high standards of the Chippenham defence slipped, and a couple of tackles were missed, allowing a strong run from Corsham to get over the line. A fine all round performance from Chippenham has kept the team spirits high going into a busy Christmas fixture list. Written by Ben Shuker
