U14s away win at Dursley

After a week of seemingly relentless rain, a 48 hour break in the weather meant pitches were playable, so game on. This was our first visit to Dursley for a couple of years and we know them to be a good team to play.

The first half saw Chippenham take the lead with two converted tries only for Dursley to rebuild and the teams trade further tries with very good conversions by both in a balanced half to arrive at the break 21 apiece. Chippenham started the half well but were penalised frequently for judged infringements at the breakdown resulting in a series of lineouts and crash balls to defend on the try line … successfully done in the end.

The second half saw Chippenham team rotations and position changes. Infringements at the breakdown reduced and attacking threats were closed down as the team worked things out. A more fluid second half saw Chippenham run in further scores. A good game overall and we look forward to playing Dursley again.
