4 In The Door at The Village!!

Church Village FC are delighted to welcome the signings of Angus Lewis, Mattie Mantay, Owain James & James Powell.

Angus is a talanted young goalkeeper with plenty of experience already having plied his trade at clubs such as Tradegar Tpwn, Cardiff Met Uni & Cardiff Hibs. Angus will wear the number 23 shirt.

Mattie joins after a very successful time with Canton Rangers. A highly skilled box to box midfielder, Mattie will set a high standard for himself and his new team mates on and off the pitch. Mattie will wear the number 10 shirt.

Owain is a talented attacking midfielder with a great engine and an eye for goal. ‘Ows’ previously enjoyed league success while played for Locksmiths FC in the Cardiff Lazarou Sunday Leagues. Owain will wear the number 7 shirt.

Powell is a no-nonsense versatile defender who follows Mantay from Canton Rangers. Good footballing brain and determination will add strength to our back line. James has also enjoyed successful spells with Locksmiths FC. James will wear the number 22 shirt.

All 4 have played previously under our new management team and have already settled in well during preseason.

Andrew Higgs, 1st Team Manager is delighted to have the chance to work with the lads again “We’re excited to bring in some new faces to an already talented squad. They are players I’ve worked with at previous clubs who I trust and know will give everything they have for the team and our objectives for the season. We have no doubt they will be a huge success”

As 4 come in, sadly we also announce some departures. We would like to thank Damien Lethbridge, Carl Jones & Leigh Price all the very best as they move on to Treforest 2nds for the 2021/22 season. Mentions also to Craig Jones, Dean James & Ryan Cody who will not be returning to the club for 2021/22.
