The UNDER 15’s GREENS travelled to Southampton Women’s with most of the early action in the middle of the pitch and little goal mouth action.
The Greens did make the breakthrough when Phoebe Arden played a long ball from right back, which Ava Bowley-Lees took first time and slotted in the far bottom corner.
Unfortunately the lead only last two minutes when Southampton equalised with a through ball which they were quickest to react to.
In the second half Greens were pushing forward to try and regain the lead and created some good chances.
However, it was Southampton who took the lead when Greens gave too much time to their winger who shot from outside the box.
Southampton scored a third from a shot through bodies, taken from the just inside the area which keeper Jasmine Marsh didn't see until it was too late.
Stand in Keeper Marsh did make 3 really smart saves, and Immy Watson also cleared the ball from off the line to stop the hosts increasing their lead.
Bowley-Lees saw two well taken shots saved, and Daisy Harris struck a sweet shot but the keeper took up good positions and kept out all of their efforts.
The UNDER 14’s REDS made it three wins on the bounce with a 4-2 success at home to Fordingbridge Force 15’s.
It was another good performance after another slow start.
The team are really beginning to feel more comfortable playing up a year and growing in confidence.
Special mention to Mateus Da Silva who dusted himself off after making an early mistake, to produce a really strong performance in goal.
Also, captain for the day Lucas Brace was outstanding alongside Ollie Dobson in the centre of defence, which allowed the team a good foundation and collectively produce a fine display.
Alex Bull scored twice while Jack Haigh and Ashton Main completed the scoring.
Coniah Lomotey made his 100th appearance for the club in the UNDER 13’s REDS home fixture against Salisbury Reds.
Top scorer Brian Mantey fired home 5 goals while Stephen Davis grabbed a brace and Harley Moores completed their scoresheet.
It needed some heroics from Fin Ball in goal to preserve the clean sheet for the Reds.
The UNDER 13’s GREENS played out a hard fought 1-1 draw at home to Alton Thundercats.
Ellie Moore scoring for the Greens but the whole team battled for the entire match and player of the match going to Jemma David in the hosts goal.
The UNDER 12’s REDS continued their 100% start to the season with a 8-4 win at Tidworth Terriers.
The team got off to a storming start racing into a 4 goal lead in the opening 15 minutes with Rafe Symons scoring twice, Jay Burden netting and a screamer from Charlie Malcolm into the top corner which was a fitting way to score his 100th goal for the club.
Tidworth responded well and levelled matters before half time but the team showed great resilience, picking themselves back up and encouraging each other to get back ahead.
Symons completing his hatrick with Burden adding his second. Luca Potgieter and the pick of the bunch of the goals from Ollie Webb who produced a bicycle kick from a corner.
A special mention to Sam Auton who played brilliantly out of position in defence in the 2nd half.
The UNDER 12’s WHITES fell to defeat at home to Reading City in the JPL South Coast Championship league match.
The whites started strong, but were unable to capitalise on some mistakes from the visitors, their bright start and hard work came undone, and found themselves 2-0 down after half an hour.
Tom Latter restored some faith when he broke in to the box from the left with a powerful effort that gave the keeper little chance.
Player of the match Oliver Davies was solid, creating a lot down the right, and made some huge tackles.
The whites fell asleep, and were faced with an uphill struggle as Reading extended their lead, but soon found themselves back in the game when Charlie Green whipped a perfect left footed free kick from the corner of the box over the wall and past a helpless goalkeeper.
The whites had momentum behind them after this, and had a third goal when Teddy Robinson weaved his way through two defenders and with a low cross, Zach Andrews was the first to react sliding in at the near post.
With the score at 4-3, the whites kept pushing for an equaliser, and almost did after Ollie Chapman hit the bar with the outside of his boot from the edge of the box.
Despite looking likely to bring the game level, the whites eventually came unstuck in the dying moments by a quick counter attack to seal the points for Reading.
The UNDER 11’s REDS produced a good home performance against Fordingbridge Raptors.
The usual slow start for the reds meant they were in the back food early on but it didn’t take long for them to get back on track with Dylan Hopkins scoring another direct free kick from the right side of the box and it’s starting to become a bit of a habit for him.
Not long after the reds scored their second after a quickly taken free kick and fantastic ball into the box by Josh Gamet was headed in by Alfie Matthews from close range.
The half time team talk centred around trying to move the ball a bit quicker and starting quickly which they certainly did.
Aiden Willets scored a fine individual goal where he evaded 2 or 3 challenges before looping the ball over the keeper into the far corner. Not long after Frankie Duffill produced a lovely pass into Alfie Matthews who finished well to continue his fine goal scoring exploits this season.
The reds then had their customary wobble and conceded a couple of goals to allow Fordingbridge to hit back and would have scored had it not been for a fantastic save by Felix Soket when he rose like a salmon to keep out a shot that was destined for the top corner.
The reds then got themselves together and produced a fantastic attacking display going forward with Willetts, Matthews, Bunt and Gamet all threatening every time they went forward.
Willets had a tidy finish which was quickly followed by something similar from Gamet.
Jack Bunt then got a goal his performance deserved with a nicely taken shot which nestled low into the corner.
The reds weren’t finished there and after several great tackles and solid defensive work Toby Longstaff produced another assist from defence with a great ball up to Gamet who finished.
Gamet then rounded off the scoring with a weaker right foot finish after his first right foot effort hit the post he followed it up and smashed into the empty net to complete his hatrick.
A solid performance again by the reds and a man of the match performance by Toby Longstaff who made several crucial challenges and won the ball back numerous times to ensure the reds picked up the win.
The UNDER 11’s WHITES hosted Andover New Street with the visitors proving to be a hard nut to crack.
The UNDER 10’s WHITES were involved in a tough battle at home to Downton which was end to end and every playing digging deep.
The teams traded goals with Igor Podsiadlo and Theo Johnson scoring for the Whites before Josh Miles scored the third.
A shout out to Tom Boddy in goal for a penalty save earlier in the match and to player of the match Fletcher for some great positional and covering play.
The UNDER 9’s WHITES were also involved in an end to end balanced game against Braishfield Blacks.
Player of the match went out Oliver McArthur for his great defensive work with Jake Bull and Ben Stephens on target.
The UNDER 8’s REDS also faced Braishfield Blacks this time on the road.
Despite conceding an early goal it didn’t impact their resilience and work ethic, which was shown with some great team play from Oscar Watts at the back making some great through balls into Eddie Harris and Harry Easley in midfield which developed into 2 fantastic goals from Harris.
Raff Rose made some great saves in the first quarter and played with determination and confidence while Arthur Knight has shown all season that hard work does pay off with some amazing defending and strong will power to win the ball back.
The Reds kept working hard as the game went on and special mention to Harris who just didn’t stop running all game.
Nellie Robinson bagged herself a well deserved goal after some great link up play with Elsie Tinne.
Player of the match went to Harry Easley for his hard work, persistence, determination and all round good team spirit.
The UNDER 8’s WHITES all worked their socks off as they hosted Andover FTC who had been a dominant force the last time the sides met a few weeks back.
The side remained competitive until the final quarter when they just ran out of steam.
All the goalkeepers were great playing their part in the performance while a massive shout out to Kai West who thoroughly deserved his first goal for Clarendon.
Player of the match was Teddy Sparke, who covered every blade of grass and scored an absolute screamer of a freekick.
The UNDER 7’s REDS faced a tough morning away to Andover FTC while the UNDER 7’s WHITES were also in their travels as they faced Braishfield Bees
Goals in the first quarter from Josh Willingale, Ethan Glanville and Jason Muzavazi saw the team start on the front foot before Braishfield edged their way back into the game.
Glanville scored a second late on in an even contest where both goalkeepers Andy Barnes and Jude Hart-Short produced good displays in between the sticks in a good overall team performance with every squad member contributing and enjoyed their game.
Special shout out to player of the match Leo Gouriet who is improving week on week with some impressive tackling and passing.
The SATURDAY SENIOR side went 1-0 down at home to a Shield FC against the run of play through a quick counter attack.
The team equalised through Chey Heyer with a close range shot at near post before making it 2-1 shortly after half time.
A smart run and driving shot from Steph Gilpin made it 3-1 and Freddie Randall curling effort secured the win.
The UNDER 9’s GREENS travelled to Durrington with Maisie Hopkins and Harbour Bolger putting on a defensive masterclass.
The greens got the scoring underway, with great work on the left by Bolger who won the ball and with a quick pass down the line, Mia Roche squared the ball across the box for Nellie Robinson.
Bolger was then involved in the second goal, which allowed a powerful run down the left from Roche, who cut inside and unleashed a rocket that gave the goalkeeper no chance.
Elsie Tinne added a third after winning the ball high up the pitch, soon followed by a Flo Carlisle goal. Carlisle added a second from a Robinson cross, who then scored herself after some more brilliant work from Harbour Bolger.
India Morgan and Quinn Armstrong were living their best lives in the mud and the rain, both running end to end with some brilliant tackling and passing.
In the second half Carlisle completed her hattrick from an excellent Armstrong corner.
Chloe Howle was getting stuck in to the action with some very important tackles, as was Maisie Hopkins who moved in to a midfield role, delivering some great passes forward.
Tinne and Robinson were both pressing high and were both was rewarded with goals.
Robinson then scored her fourth from a long ball by Tinne, who then completed a hat trick herself after player of the match Mia Roche bursted down the right to place a pin point cross in to the middle.
Goals from Charlie Orchard and Harvey Smith saw the UNDER 16’s advance in the Wilts Cup with a 2-0 win against Calne Town Panthers.
The SUNDAY senior side continued their good form to remain joint top of the table with a 5-2 away win at Durrington.
The team took the lead thanks to an own goal on 12 minutes from an Ollie Clack corner before doubling their lead midway through the first half thanks to Callum Taylor with Jordan Found setting him up.
A penalty from the hosts gave them hope but that was soon extinguished with a second from Taylor to make it 3-1.
Will McFarlane added his name to the scoresheet with a 4th on 70 minutes with Found again providing the assist.
Durrington pulled a second goal back 16 minutes from time, but McFarlane had the final say converting from Aidan McMullan’s pass.
