Simon Nearney speaks ahead of the visit of Hebburn

Hello all,

I hope you are all safe and well and looking forward to a cracking game of football at the Myenergy Stadium between two sides that will definitely be competing at the top end of the table.

Interestingly it's been exactly two months since our last league defeat to North Ferriby on 28th August when we went down to 10 men after 4 minutes and still we should have got something from the game... However, in the intervening period we have played 4 and won 4 and stand 7th in the league table with a game in hand with our match last week against Consett postponed due to poor weather conditions.

It's fair to say we are in a rich vein of form but importantly for our management team the performances have been good, we have played some outstanding football, scored great goals and defensively including Macca have been exceptional. The players can take great belief and confidence from those games and hopefully take it into our next 4 which will undoubtedly be a tougher test - Hebburn, Carlton, Belper and Brighouse. I for one am backing the lads and I know you, our supporters will get right behind them as you always do for the 90 minutes. So make sure you get wrapped up in your Cleethorpes Town FC coat, hoddie, tracksuit top, snood, scarf and hat? and get down early to enjoy a drink in the bar with a burger and dirty fries and a good old laugh with your friends. It's an exciting time to be an Owl and we can see exactly what Tim and Liam are building.

Finally, I'd just like to say a huge 'Thank you' to our marvellous staff and volunteers for all their hard work and dedication. You know who you are!! Without you there wouldn't be a Cleethorpes Town and together, we make the club strong and a special place for our community and 36 boys and girls teams to enjoy.

Good luck Tim, Liam and players. UTO!

Best wishes

Simon
