The Owls entertain Mossley tomorrow (3pm) in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Trophy. It will be Clee's fourth successive knock-out match in three different competitions. After the 5-4 defeat in the League Cup at Frickley, no one who witnessed the FA Cup win on Tuesday will forget it for a long time.
After a 3-3 draw at New Linden, the Club travelled to Bamber Bridge as underdogs but we produced one of our best ever performances to triumph 5-0. A virtuoso display from Jon Oglesby (pictured in Trophy action at Buxton), which included a hat-trick, plus goals from Scott Vernon and Brody Robertson left Brig to reflect on a record Cup defeat.
The FA Trophy is prestigious in its own right and the Owls will be keen to at least equal their debut campaign. Victories against Hyde, Buxton and Hednesford (after a replay) were tucked away before National North Spennymoor Town ended our interest with a narrow 2-1 win at Bradley.
Mossley ply their trade in the Evostik West and have started the season in decent fashion. They sit in 6th place currently but suffered FA Cup disappointment against Kidsgrove last weekend.
So, it promises to be another entertaining occasion and all support is most welcome! If it finishes level after 90 minutes, it will go to a replay on Tuesday at Seel Park.
