After a splendid performance on Saturday against higher-ranked opposition, the Owls make the long midweek journey to Lancashire on the hunt for an FA Cup upset at Bamber Bridge.
The general consensus after the first game was that Clee were unlucky not to progress. Two goals from Brody Robertson and a header from Josh Batty deservedly put the Owls 3-1 ahead early in the second period. However, Brig showed why they have only tasted defeat once this term and staged a late fightback.
Brad Carsley completed his hat-trick for the visitors and is clearly one to keep a close eye on tomorrow. We will need to be at our very best on the night to maintain our interest in the competition.
A big carrot has been offered in the shape of a home draw in the 3rd Round Qualifying against National North Guiseley. If we battle through at Bamber Bridge, this tie is schedule to take place at New Linden on Saturday 6th October.
So, all to play for and whilst we enter the encounter as underdogs, we are no strangers at defying the odds! Extra time and then penalties will be played if necessary.
