TULIPS FIRST UP FOR THE OWLS!
High excitement all around the Club as we welcome our Lincolnshire neighbours Spalding United to New Linden tomorrow (3pm).
We start in the newly formed Evostik East and the Owls will be striving to be fast off the mark with an opening day win. It has been a busy Summer in the transfer market, with several comings and goings.
Welcomed into the squad for tomorrow's game are new signings Josh Batty, Lewis Collins, Tom Davie, Craig Disley, Dylan Parkin, Sam Topliss, Scott Vernon and Paul Walker respectively. All will be hoping to impress the management and, after a successful pre-season, there is every reason to believe that Clee can get the victory.
The Tulips will have other ideas, of course, and are keen to improve on last year's finish of 13th in the Evostik South.
Last year, the Owls completed the "double", with a comfortable 3-0 win in south Lincolnshire on a sweltering August bank holiday. Goals on the day came from Jon Oglesby, Andy Taylor and Tim Lowe. It was a good deal cooler and much closer for the return at Bradley on New Year's Day. A 2-1 scoreline was the outcome, with Luke Aldrich and Danny North cancelling out an early strike from Conor Marshall.
So, plenty to play for and all support will be warmly welcomed! Come and see for yourself the superb transformation that has taken place at New Linden.
