This was the proverbial game of two halves where Clevedon didn't really turn up until half time and by then were three goals down and looking at another defeat.
Evesham came out all guns blazing and within fifteen minutes were two goals to the good with a strike from the edge of the area by Ashley Edenborough that needed a double bounce off the underside of the crossbar to help it over the line and a simple tap in by Lance Smith after a good run and cross from Elliott Kennedy.
Edenborough was on hand after thirty minutes to pick up on a long clearance by Kevin Sawyer, in the home goal, that was helped on to him by Nathan Jackson, Edenborough then outran the visitors' scrambling defenders to slot the ball past Kane Mannings.
The only real effort from the visitors came just before half-time when a Kye Mountford corner found Kyle Thomas on the edge of the area, his firm shot was well blocked on the line by Sawyer.
Half Time: Evesham United 3 Clevedon Town 0
The second half saw a different Clevedon side emerge and for long periods they took the game to their hosts and with good efforts from Kyle Thomas, Aron Robbins and Adam Buckley were unlucky not to have picked up at least a goal.
Evesham were always looking for the breaks and the ever threatening Edenborough should have completed his hat trick when a slip by Mason Winter allowed him a clear shot on goal that was well saved by Kane Mannings.
The game looked to be drawing to a close without any addition to the score line until the eighty ninth minute when a beautiful run through the visitors defence saw Lance Smith cut inside and slot the ball in to the bottom corner to make it four. Deep in to added on time, the same player was on hand to convert a speculative cross to complete his hat-trick, leaving the visitors wondering where he had come from.
