In this bottom of the table clash, the home supporters were looking for an improvement on last week's performance and at the outset things were going well with Tim Parker putting an effort just wide of the far post and Joe Swift with a free-kick that looked as though it was curling in until a great save from Matthew Gould in the visitors' goal tipped the ball round the post.
On twenty five minutes the visitors were reduced to ten men when Nathan Summers was given his marching orders for an elbow in the face of Joe Swift.
The hosts took the lead in time added on at the end of the half when Ben Bament was put in the clear by a through ball from Parker and was left with an easy effort to slip the ball past Gould into the net.
Half Time: Clevedon Town 1 Bishops Cleeve 0
The second half followed a similar pattern as the first with several chances being created at both ends but with no one to convert to goals. On seventy three minutes the hosts looked to have wrapped the game up when a Joe Swift pass to Tim Parker was miss-hit, the ball fell to Ben Bament who emphatically put the ball away to double the score.
The celebrations were short lived as on seventy eight minutes a mistake in midfield allowed Bishops Cleeve to progress up field and Ed Major latched on to the ball on the edge of the box and slipped the ball past Kane Mannings for a simple effort. Shortly after the restart a speculative shot from out on the touch-line by Danny Sherry hit Ben Maguire on the back of his heel to wrong foot Mannings in the home goal and bring the scores level.
Despite a spirited last ten minutes from both sides, neither of them was able to find the winning goal.
