As of this Thursday 1st March, please help support the continued development of our community clubhouse by dropping in your blue tokens for Clitheroe Cricket, Bowling, & Tennis Club at our Clitheroe Tesco store.
Aside from cricket, bowling, and tennis users; the clubhouse itself is used weekly by The Meteor Club (local persons with severe learning disabilities and their carers). The clubhouse also hosts a weekly baby massage group (up to 40 mothers and their babies) through the Foundation for Ribble Valley Families. We also have a number of other regular clubhouse users (e.g. Friends of Pendle Primary School, Clitheroe Historical Society, Clitheroe Mountaineering Club, Slimmers World); and over 30 schools used our facility in 2017 alone. We also host numerous community functions, a number of which are held to raise money for charitable causes.
For us to continue to grown and develop as a 'community hub' we need the support of grants such as these, which complimented by our volunteers' own fundraising efforts, has seen around £180k worth of investment in our site in the previous 4 years...our facility had a record number of users in 2017 and are well on track to continue this progress into 2018 and beyond.
Tokens are handed out from any non-self-service checkout and can be dropped into the box in Tesco's throughout April and May. We hope to use the monies alongside our own fundraising efforts/other grant applications to make improvements to the clubhouse that will benefit the local community for decades to come.
