CUP EXIT FOR SPORTS
Sunday 16th October.............Westlands were emphatically dumped out of the league cup by holders Merley Cobham Sports at Alvington with the final score of 5-1 being Westlands biggest defeat of the season. Merley Cobham looked in the mood from the off and some lethargic defending saw them establish a 2-0 half time lead. In a steady downpour Westlands fought back in the second half and eventually JOSH PAYNE made it 2-1 with a good shot from the edge of the box. The 3rd goal was critical and it was th e visitors who scored it in the 75th minute. That was the clinching goal and in the dying minutes Merley punished two mistakes by the tiring Westlands defence to make the final score 5-1. A day to forget for Westlands. Full match report to follow.

well done - next round Wareham FC.
