Cockermouth Titans got off to a great start in Saturdays game v Lowca away with a well weighted grubber kick through the Lowca defence bouncing kindly into Jack Clarks arms who then raced on to score the try & following conversion to put Titans up 6-0 with only 5mins on the clock.
Lowca hit straight back & took control of the game racing into a 16-6 lead.
Johnny Goulding made some strong running & penetrated the Lowca defence & almost going the full length but was held up inches from the line but in the following play Jack Clark again dived over from short range.
Lowca scored again before half time going in 20-12 ahead.
As the rain poured at the break both teams went to the changing rooms to reflect on the 1st half.
Titans responded the better & playing with better conditions scored 2 tries from youngsters Sam Taylor nipping in the corner after good passing through hands & Jack Lewis sliding through the middle after a jinking run through desperate defending putting the away team 30-20 up.
From the resulting kick off from Lowca the ball held in the wind & sailed out on the full & up stepped Jack Clark for the second time in two weeks to knock the ball over the sticks from the half way line.
Titans now with increased energy pushed on with Johnny Goulding barging his way through a clutch of defenders to increase the lead to 36-20.
Always a tough game against Lowca & they never gave up, scoring a try in the last few minutes to give a final score 36-26.
