Saturday 1st October sees Coedy welcome Holywell Town Fc in the first round proper of the JD Welsh cup.

Known as ‘The Wellmen’ Holywell Town are a well-established Cymru Alliance side having finishing fifth, second and even winning the league title in the past three years after being promoted from the Welsh Alliance Division 1 after the 2013/14 season.

The Welsh Cup is also one of Holywell’s favourite stomping grounds as they always seem to progress well in the competition having reached the latter rounds on many an occasion most memorably in the 2013-14 season reaching the semi-finals, only to go down 3-1 to Welsh Premier side Aberystwyth Town.

Tomorrow Coedpoeth United will be holding a minute’s silence and wearing black memorial armbands in memory of Belinda Roberts. Wife of club photographer Steve and mother to former player Stuart, passed away last weekend after a short illness. Friends to many in the club, this sudden loss has rocked the whole community and she will be sorely missed.

Steve and his family have been a big support to Coedpoeth United for many years and we would like to send our support back to Steve and his family as they come to terms with such a sad loss.

Coedpoeth seem to have more or less a full squad available to them apart from influential Mike Taylor due to work commitments.

The kiosk will be open to purchase drinks and snacks also their will be a match programme available to buy. So hopefully the weather will be nice and hopefully get much needed support from the fans as coedy look to be giantkillers and try and progress to the next round of the Welsh cup.

See you at the Biggy!!!!
