Highlights of our game vs Berkswell 3rd XI, where we secured another Winning Draw and 17 points that was enough to put us back on top of the league table. After losing the toss and being invited to bat, we got off to a shaky start losing both openers in the first 4 overs leaving us 8-2. Mumtaz Yakoob and Dave Phillips (49) steadied the ship putting on 105 for the third wicket, and together with Dave Brown (43*) were the mainstay of the innings as we posted 281-5. Mumtaz recorded his maiden 100, and batted beautifully for his hard earned and well deserved 117. When we went out after some delightful Eid inspired teas, we bowled reasonably well, and took wickets at regular intervals on a very dry surface, Khuram Hussain being the pick of the bowlers taking 3-36 off his 12 overs. With Berkswell settling for the losing draw very early on in their innings, it was a frustrating afternoon, but it continues our good run of form and we look forward to next weeks game against 3rd place Leamington Khalsa.
