Bears bow out of the Senior Cup to a young Crewe side. Report by Liam Donelly

A personal note for me tonight this is my 100th game watching the bears where I have done match reports.
Attentions for Congleton Town tonight turn to the Cheshire Senior Cup. A competition which in the past two seasons have progressed towards the latter stages of. They will be looking to get revenge on the team that dumped them out last year, before they went on to win the Midland premier division and Midland League cup.
Crewe Alex however use this cup competition to give youngsters a chance for some senior football and bringing squad players back to full fitness it will be interesting to see there line up tonight.
Team news:
Tom Hampton starts for the bears tonight. Along with George Sankey, Matt Gilliam and Kieran garner knapper. Darren Chadwick captains the side. Max Mccarthy and Richard Duffy on the bench. Still no Dan Needham in the squad.
Owen Lunt and Charlie finney both start for Crewe who have both had first team
Minutes this season.
There is lots of the Bear Army here who have travelled the short distance down the road from Congleton. This game goes straight to Penalties if all square at full time.

Congleton struggling here at the minute against a good Crewe side.
Crewe with another chance as a lose ball from Pete Williams sees the Crewe attacker get too it. But Dave Parton does well to clear it away.
Another chance for the Bears knapper does well but its hits curved over the crossbar.
Crewe with a free kick in a good postion after Darren Chadwick brings the attacker down. A good effort on goal forces Parton into making a good save.
Half time
Crewe Alex 1-0 Congleton Town
A good goal sees the bears down at half time. Congleton had a good spell just before half time keeping the ball nicely but couldn’t find the goal to equal things up. The bears will be looking for a spark in the second half. And may look to Max McCarthy to try and change the game.
Second half:
GOOOOAAAAL ⚽️⚽️ Crewe Alex

GOOOOAAAAL ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ it’s 4 to Crewe and it’s a worldie of a finish the best goal of the lot. This could get very bad for the bears in terms of scoreline
GOOOAAAAAAL Bears ⚽️
Lewis Porter with a consolation goal for the bears. And gives the Bear faithful something to cheer about. His mates sat above the dugout liked that goal.
