Girls get involved for next season. See you in September

come and join us in September!!
- Alison Fraser

As we come to an end of the 23/24 rugby season the girls of the Bish-Con (Bishop Auckland RFC and Consett RFC) U16s team have a lot to be proud of.

Starting the season with many injuries did not dampen their spirits -turning up to training and matches despite many being out of action made for a tight knit team who trained weekly at both clubs.

This team has achieved so much in the time they have spent together:
· Played the first U16 girls match EVER at Consett
· Donated and supplied a full range of sanitary products for women to use at Consett Rugby Club
· Raised the profile of girls rugby at Consett
· Worked on Teambuilding at Weardale Outdoor Centre
· One of our girls completed her Referee training
· 2 players are progressing to a Rugby Academy College in September

Every member of this team has epitomised TREDS (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship) over the season and have laid excellent foundations becoming the best role models for more girls to join the game.

Charlie (Captain) Lucy (Vice Captain) and the rest of the team would like to thank their coaches and support team, Consett Cobras, family and friends for their support and invite any girls who will be in year 7 -13 in September and interested in playing rugby to reach out and join them!

We look forward to YOU joining us next year. If you'd like to get involved in any aspect of Girls Rugby please contact Alison on 5fraserfamily@gmail.com or by ringing 07472 949148 she'd love to hear from you.
