Match Report - Holywell Town FC

Borough pick up 3 points at Holywell.

Borough came away with a hard fought win at Holywell Town FC on Friday evening.

In an entertaining game the visitors secured a 3-2 win with goals from Morgan Murray, Meilir Williams and Cory Williams.

Player of the match for Borough was goalkeeper Rory Crowther who turned in a top class performance.

After the game we spoke to interim Manager, Stu Howson:-

“ Holywell Is always a difficult place to go and they've had an excellent season, so to go there and pick up three points has given us a massive lift and probably secures our place in Cymru North.

It was a game of plenty of chances, with too many from a defensive perspective and but Rory [Crowther] was outstanding. We were also dangerous ourselves all night and Morgan, Cory and Meilir were a constant threat.

We have shown over the last couple of games a more resilient side to us and that has been the most pleasing aspect as it is that side of the game that we needed to improve.

It was good to score three goals from open play and create lots of opportunities. I want players to be brave with and without the ball as we have good players who can compete with anyone in our league.

Finally, being able to manage and see out the game shows the progress our young players have made over the course of the season and this bodes well for the upcoming games.”
