However, the win was marred by a sending off for Conwy keeper Louis Mackin in the last five minutes and an injury to midfielder Levi Mackin with a suspected broken toe early in the second half.
Mackin saw red after he was adjudged to of handled the ball outside the area with Penycae on the attack, a decision which left Conwy manager Chris Herbert disappointed:
"It wasn’t a red card, he never handballed it and the Penycae player was going away from goal, so its a poor decision by the ref."
"We dominated the game but slowed the game down too much at times which was frustrating but all-in-all before the game we'd take a 3-0 win".
The scoring got underway after 10 mins as a Phil Doran run and cross down the left found King inside the box as his effort looped over Makaruk in the Penycae goal and into the net.
Conwy were then frustrated by dogged defending by the visitors as the first half ended 1-0.
The second goal came on 57 minutes as Alan Bull converted a penalty after Ryan Wignall was brought down in the box.
The scoring was completed on 70 minutes when a Wignall free-kick into the box was headed by Chris King for his second goal of the night.
King was denied a hat-trick by the woodwork as his looping header hit the bar before Mackin saw red minutes later.
Conwy now face Llanidloes on Saturday at Y Morfa (2.30pm) and will be hoping to close the 5 point gap on league leaders Cefn Druids.
