To provide free football related opportunities to children adults living in the Langlees Bainsford area of Falkirk. The Area is in the top 10 SIMD statistics for Scotland in terms of multiple deprivation.
These statistics are evident as a barrier to local children’s and adults participation in any form of extracurricular sports activities
The majority of the participants who are part of Coo Park United come from disadvantaged backgrounds,
Whilst is recognise that the Falkirk are in general is well known for its wealth of opportunities in organised football and other sporting activities, These come at a cost and are often delivered out with the local area which adds another cost for participation.
The key to the success of the Coo Park united is that it is delivered locally using existing community facilities and volunteers recruited from the parents of the children and the wider community. The community supports the projects aims through fundraising for equipment kit and transport to external venues. All sessions and activities are free to all participants
