Club president Bert Wilkinson has passed away, aged 73, in the early hours of Tuesday Morning.

Bert, known as Mr Coppull United, put his heart and soul into the club, in which he worked hard for and did his absolute best to keep the club going.

Bert worked with a number of first team managers including Dave Haughton, Martin Hinds, Mick Simm, Dave Smith, Mick Crispin and Gary Young to name a few.

His main goal was for Coppull United to achieve major silverware, more importantly the Lancashire Amateur Shield. In the 2014/15 his dream came true when Dave Haughton's team defeated CMB in the final to lift the prestigious trophy.

Bert Wilkinson will be sadly missed by at all Coppull United. Our condolences go out to his children Paul and Joanne and the rest of the family.
