Corby Hockey Club’s junior players are sporting a brand new kit thanks to sponsorship from local print firm Kandaprint.
The orange and black strip is in the historic colours of the hockey club, which was first founded in Corby in the 1950s.
After folding a few years ago the club reformed its junior section in March this year and already has had more than 50 youngsters trying out the sport.
The U8s and U10s teams wore the kit for the first time last month when they took part in the Northants Junior tournaments.
CHC Chairman Bob Anderson said: “We are really grateful to Kandaprint for its support of our hockey club. As a new junior club with little funds, this financial sponsorship by Kandaprint has meant that our teams have been able to attend their first tournaments looking incredibly smart.”
Kandaprint director Lee Rockingham said: “We were contacted by Corby Hockey Club for sponsorship and as a local company we are obviously supportive of the town and thought this was a great cause to lend our help to.”
Junior training takes place on Thursdays from 5.45pm to 6.30pm at Corby Business Academy. The training was initially open to 6-11 year olds but a 12- 16 year section has now been created. The first two sessions are free and equipment is provided however players are encouraged to wear shin pads and gum shields.
