History

Corby rfc was formed in July1958 and has come a long way since then.
Thre are 9 founding members of the club;
Dr o v Maxim John Skelton
Bill Broxton Jack Holmes
Dai Fly Joe Norman
Stan Boulton Tom Mathews
Bill Burgess.
Tom Mathews raised thousands of pounds to get the club off the ground by going round all the pubs and clubs selling tote cards. The headquarters were in the Tinder box room of the Corby Candle and the first ground was West Glebe park. The first captain of the club was an ex international hockey player Wyndom Powell.
Corby played their first game against a Northampton Saints xv with a mix of corby and S&L players.
In the early sixties the club changed their HQ to the White Hart where they stayed until 1967 when Alan Smith took over the Open Hearth pub the club moved there and stayed there until we moved to our present home in 1972.

The ground we play at is northern park which we own and have facilities for players of all ages. Later this year the club will be going through a massive overhaul to bring the facilities up to date, modernising the main hall the lounge and the players bar.
Also we will be refurbishing the changing rooms and building some more.

The club is in the process of rebuilding its first team after years of struggling and are very hopeful of things to come in the coming year.The club is going from strength to strength and hoping to field a second team later this season.
