As this is our last home game of the season, I want to take this opportunity to say Thank You and Congratulations to everyone involved in this season. From the players to the management and everyone else behind the scenes you have continued to do the club proud; both in your performances on the pitch and your behaviour off the pitch. To win 14 games in a row is miraculous and should be commended. You should be proud of your perseverance and dedication to the team. In addition to this you have continued to carry yourselves with dignity off the pitch, even when goaded on social media and in certain cases called out by name, you have remained focussed and dedicated.
To have made it to April having won 28 league matches, and scored 90 league goals is a testament to the team work and mental strength of you all. I know it isn’t always easy, whether it is a cold February night, you’re coming back from injury, or you happen to be part of the management team with an unforgiving (and complaining) wife at home, you have continued to work for each other and put in the extra mile to push yourselves to be your best.
I hope that you can enjoy the last two matches of the season, and continue to show everyone what your Corinthian FC team spirit has been this season: teamwork, ambition, effort, enjoyment and respect.
To conclude, a parting thought to take into your next two matches from Rudyard Kipling’s If
“If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
