We face Park Knowle away on Saturday in the first league meeting after a disappointing 1-0 loss in the Goulding cup last month. In a game where we played the better football all match and struggling with players missing we lost to a wind assisted goal in the last quarter of the match. It's been a tough few weeks with first Chris England departing to rejoin Nailsea and now star player Brad Mead deciding to join another club, we are left a little short on options up front. However my headache is another mans opportunity and I will be looking to Troy, Amar and Ash to fill the shoes of those two guys along with Daryl Cox.
After reviewing Park Knowle's results against the opposition they've faced so far you have to say their standing in the league table flatters them if the ability on show last time was anything to go by and we will certainly look to try and overcome their Wimbledon-esque "Crazy Gang" game plan this weekend by sticking to our principles and playing neat football. A slight chang e in shape and personnel should give us more possession and allow Cata to get in and around the box a bit more.
Other positives are new coach Garry Ford has run some excellent training sessions so far and we have some interest from new players, along with the reserve side continuing to produce good results. Have a good week and hopefully three points this Saturday.... UTC!
