Following our August meeting, the committee voted to have two very worthy organisations to fundraise for this coming season. After our success in raising money and awareness for local children Harry & Harper in the 2018/19 season and then doing the same for MIND in 2019/20 season, we have continued our commitment to support worthwhile causes.
The totals we have raised have been a result of the hard work & commitment of our coaches, players and supporters but also boosted greatly by the wider Norfolk football community and the many teams that have given towards these great causes and we hope all will do the same again.
Our first partner is the Offside Trust. They were set up following the 2016 revelations of sexual abuse in British Football. Their aims are to end abuse in sport, so kids can be kids and support the healing journey of survivors of abuse. One of their ambassadors is former Norwich City player and survivor of abuse, Alan Arber. Alan is also a Costessey resident and will be attending games and club events to promote best practise in safeguarding children and advising our coaches.
Our second partner is Nelson's Journey. They are a local charity that support children and young people who've experienced the death of a significant person. This year we had the tragic news of the death of former player Blake Hale, so know the value of such a wonderful charity.
