About Us


Coventry & District Walking Football Club is set up for men over the age of 50 and women over 35 who have differing footballing abilities and who wish to take part in the slower-paced version of the beautiful game. Taking part and playing promotes physical health and mental well being and provides opportunities to create and develop new friendships. These are the core values that our Club is based upon.

As well as the walking football, we hold regular social events throughout the year for members and their partners and we actively support local charities through various fundraising activities and events.

We play at the Alan Higgs Centre, Allard Way, in Coventry on a 3G pitch outdoors but have the facility of using the full-size indoor 3G pitch in the winter months when the weather is bad. We hold 4 friendly playing sessions per week - 3 for men on Monday and Thursday from 11am to 12 noon and on Friday from 7pm to 8pm in Summer months (1st April to 30th September) and 8pm to 9pm in Winter months (1st October to 31st March), and from 28th August 2024 oncer per week for women currently playing on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 7pm. These sessions are open to all club members of mixed abilities and you choose when and how often you want to play. The Monday and Thursday sessions normally attracts between 24-30 players which allows us to play 6 or 7 a side games on reduced sized pitches. The Friday evening sessions are arranged with those who are still working in mind and normally attract between 15-18 players, so all our sessions are well attended. The Wednesday evening sessions for women has just started and will develop as more female players join.
For those players looking for more competitive play, we are the only club in the Coventry area to field men’s teams in age groups over 50s, 57s, 63s and 67s in the Birmingham County Walking Football League. We would hope to field Women's teams in the future too.

The cost of Club Membership is £10 per annum and just £3 per session. However, you are most welcome to come along, check it out free of charge for the first couple of sessions and then if you wish to 'give it a go' and carry on, then you will be most welcome as a new member of our friendly club.

If you wish to extend your playing career or you just want to put your boots back on and join like-minded individuals who just wish to play at a slower pace, then you are most welcome.
