Friday Night 04/08/23, we hosted CPD Glantraeth for the Season Opener for Season 23/24. A tough assignment to start off against a team that finished Last Season strongly and many people's tip to do well again this season as well.

We lined up with Kieran in goal, Back 4 of Aaron, Gafyn, Twm and Arden, Midfield 3 was Hywel, Josh and Ben and then the Front 3 was Mark, Gwion and James.

Game started off to a pretty tense affair, which was expected to a season opener. As the game wore on in the first half, both teams found their feet quite quickly. some good chances fell to Gwion who tested the opposition GK with a fierce shot, Twm and James also with half chances but couldn't converte them into goal scoring opportunities. Glantraeth had their chances as well to end the half and only for a crucial tackle by Twm at the end of the first half to prevent them scoring and going into the break with a lead.

Second Half begun with both teams trying to take the game to each other and find that all important first goal. Llan were starting to get a good spell in the game, first James had a good chance one on one with the GK but scuffed his shot wide after good build up work, then it was Mark's turn to test the GK but his shot hit the post with GK beaten. Still it was anyone's game with both defences strong and coming out on top, with chances still at a minimal. With both teams looking to freshen it up with substitutes, Cai, Callum and Dion Came on to replace Ben, Gwion and James to try and stretch the opposition with their fresh legs and it nearly paid off with Callum getting a snap shot away but found the GK equal to it as the game fizzed out to a stalemate draw.

Overall a good point for Llan to kick off the season, but we had some good chances Second Half to nick the win - but in all a Draw was a Fair Result for both teams.
