In their second league game of the season, CPD Sychdyn played host to Aston Park Rangers.
With the home side keen to get their second win of the season and with the visitors looking to make a statement by getting off the mark with their first win both sides knew this was going to be a tough game.
The first half saw countless chances wasted from the home side who could have been at least 3-0 up in the first 20 minutes with efforts from Weir, Van Miert and Robinson easily dealt with by the keeper. The first 45 minutes saw both sides return to the changing rooms all square.
The second half started with a fast tempo with the home side completely controlling the opening 10 minutes.
CPD were finally rewarded when a solo run and shot from Van Miert gave the team the lead they deserved.
2 minutes later Luke Robinson showed why he was back to his best when a ball sent into his path by Mark Weir was converted to put the side in a great position at 2-0.
Aston Park continued to press the home side which resulted in a well struck shot into the back of the net to make it 2-1.
Sychdyn continued to push forward during the last 15 minutes when Luke Robinson once again slotted the ball in to make sure the home side were not walking off the pitch with anything other than 3 points.
On the 84th minute a fantastic long range strike from Adam Blunden thundered into the bottom corner for his debut goal in the league.
With the maximum 6 points from the 2 league games, this is proving to be one of the best starts in CPD's history. Shaun Antrobus, although pleased still knows there is a lot more hard work required "2 wins to start the season is exactly what the lads deserved, however we still need to keep focus to ensure we keep this form going"
