In a must win game for both teams, CPD Sychdyn traveled away to play against a strong Flint Mountain team.
With both teams having previously lost ground in the early stages of the current season, it was clear that getting 3 points would be key to any future success.
The game started with the away side controlling possession with the home side struggling to get to grips with this new look Sychdyn side.
Tim Hughes yet again proved that he was up their with the best strikers in the league, when a pass into the edge of the 18 yard box was calmly placed into the bottom corner by the experienced striker.
Still looking in complete control, it wasn't long before Sychdyn once again placed the ball into the back of the net, only to be given a bizarre offside ruling by the referee. Minutes later Tim Hughes was brought down by a clumsy tackle by the Flint Mountain Goal Keeper, resulting in a penalty. Although well placed, the keeper managed to pull off a brilliant save.
The second half once again saw a solid Sychdyn side control the game. On 59 minutes Tim Hughes stole the show again, when i cross into the box fell to the strikers feet to slot home giving the away side a 2 goal cushion. Yet again the referee caused controversy when another goal was ruled offside.
On the 83rd minute Tim Hughes rounded off a terrific performance by completing his first hat tick of the season when a through ball by Alyn Roberts was chipped over the keeper and into the back of the net. Final result Flint Mountain 0 - 3 CPD Sychdyn
"We knew we had to make a statement in this game and to go out there and be in control from start to finish against a strong Flint Mountain team, shows just how strong minded the lads are. The loss in mid - week hurt us all a great deal and the main message for today's game was to go and show this league exactly what we're about" said a delighted Shaun Antrobus.
Well done lads.
