Broadfields United FC 1 v Crawley Green FC 4
Three goals in 12 first half minutes set Crawley up for what turned out to be a comfortable 4-1 win against Broadfields.

Crawley started brightly with an early shot from Mark Bunker which was tipped on to the bar by Matt Faley. United replied with drive from Jordon Goode-Keeley which George Rose did well to turn round for a corner.

Phil Draycott and Billy Lobjoit both sent shots over the bar before Chris Crook came to Crawley's rescue with a last ditch tackle to deny Dene Gardener.

Faley saved shots from Draycott and Sam Holmes and then kept out an effort from Holmes which rebounded to safety off his head. After 24 minutes Crawley took the lead when cross from Draycott was turned in by Holmes to make it 0-1 and two minutes later Crawley doubled their lead. Bunker set up Lojoit on the edge of the box and he drove the ball past Faley to make it 0-2.

Draycott had a shot cleared off the line before Crawley made it 0-3 after 36 minutes. Holmes had a shot blocked after being played in by Draycott and Bunker's effort off the rebound was also blocked. The ball fell kindly to Holmes who smashed the second rebound into the net to put Crawley three up at the break.

United made 3 substitutions at half time in an attempt to get themselves back into the game but it was Crawley who came close to increasing their lead when Faley kept out a shot from Draycott. Crawley's Spencer O'Leary then got booked for a needless foul and the free kick was headed over by Rhys Martin.

Crawley then introduced debutante Aidan Fennelly who promptly conceded a penalty for a push in the box. Up stepped Ish Emui who smashed the ball past Rose to make it 1-3 after 72 minutes. Rose then saved an effort from Gardener before Crawley restored their 3 goal advantage after 81 minutes.

Fennelly redeemed himself with a peach of a pass to play in Holmes who pulled the ball back for Lobjoit who finished with aplomb to make 1-4 and secure 3 points for the Maroons.

On Tuesday Crawley entertain high flying Newport Pagnell and next Saturday North Greenford United are the visitors to The Brache..

Crawley Green Reserves secured a fine 5-1 against Wilstead. Dominic Horn and Temitayo Akerele both got a brace and Reece Green also scored. Next week they entertain Biggleswade United U23.
