The original Crewe Ladies joined the N.W.W.R.F.L. in 1985 and folded on February 14th 1993 with their season incomplete. The most famous player ever to play for the club at the time was Kerry Davis, a prolific striker who scored 44 goals in 82 appearances for England. This goal scoring record would only be beaten in February 2012, when Kelly Smith reached 45 goals versus Finland in the Cyprus Cup !
In 1999-00 Crewe Alexandra where elected into the N.W.W.R.F.L. , but they would disband on August 28th 2001, after just two seasons in Division two South.
In 2000-01 a new club had begun life called Crewe Vagrants, who played their football in the West Midlands Regional Football League and they won their Premier Division in 2002-03 with 58 points .
The club then moved into the Midlands Combination and success continued with a second Championship in 2005-06. This was the season the club became Crewe Alexandra and two season were spent in the National League North, with a highest placing of 4th in 2006-07, before being relegated back to the Midlands Combination.
The best season in the F.A. Cup was a Fourth Round appearance in 2007-08, while in the Cheshire County Cup, they have been finalists on three occasions and won the Trophy once in 2004-05.
