The last game for the Keys before Christmas brought Henry’s of Brigg to Windsor Park. Henry’s had won the reverse fixture five-two in October despite conceding a goal in the first few seconds, a pattern partially repeated in this game as the visitors’ goalie’s first duty was to retrieve the ball from his net in the fourth minute; Shay Barron’s eleventh goal of the season was his third from a free-kick, curled inside the post from a central position just outside the D of the penalty area.

The home side dominated the first half and rattled the crossbar from a Jack Martinson shot before Barron threaded an incisive pass through Henry’s’ defence for Morgan Clark to slide his first goal in eleven months. Two became three in the twenty-fifth minute when visiting keeper Marshall Backhouse-McDermid misjudged an unthreatening shot from Barron which evaded the goalie’s gloves, but in a rare attack on the home goal Kurtis Gollings’ shot found its way past Aidan Wilkinson via the head of Brandon McClurey to make the score three-one.

Barron completed his second first-half hat-trick of the season just two minutes later with a cushioned header from Aaron Smith’s cross from the right wing, and it was Smith who brought the curtain down on an impressive opening period when he pushed a shot into the Henry’s goal from a narrow angle in stoppage time.

The second half produced only a fraction of the goalmouth events seen before the break. The score remained five-one until just after the hour when Sammy Edlin turned his marker on the edge of the box and hit a low shot past Wilkinson. The last kick of the game gave Gollings another goal. After the striker had been brought to the ground when Wilkinson dived at his feet, he took responsibility for the resulting penalty. Wilkinson guessed correctly and dived to make a save but the ball rebounded straight to Gollings who made no mistake with his second opportunity.
